Dia de los Muertos display

Earlier this month, the artists in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood opened their doors to the public. Art displayed ranged from one-colored prints to a headboard with a burned image of “La Catrina” — also known as death according to Mexican Folklore. Many unique venues, including a gym and people’s own apartments displayed the array of color popping out of the art. The streets were busier than usual on the sunny Sunday afternoon in October. This annual event also brings artists from all over the city to see the culture of 18th Street. More information about the Pilsen Open Studios is located at http://pilsenopenstudios.org/
